Del Mondo Pastries was first established in Concord in 1997 by Sam Simonetti. The business began in its embryonic state with just Sam, his wife Diana, and one chef. Sam recalls that his first day of trading yielded an earning of $70 - the sweetest and most rewarding $70 he has ever earned.

Nine years later, the business continues to flourish under Sam's keen and watchful eye. He is surrounded by dedicated and energetic staff who are true believers in the business. The name Del Mondo is derived from the Italian language, symbolic of Sam's Italian origins, and means "of the world". Sam encourages his staff to be creative and pursue this motto. Sam and his staff at Del Mondo work tirelessly to maintain products and services of the highest quality in the dynamic twenty-first century, whilst still staying true to the traditional Italian ways.
